Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented Digital Mapping & Navigation Developer to help improve online route-planning experiences and location-based web features. This position focuses on making navigation tools easier to use, faster, and more intuitive for people planning daily trips, road journeys, and local routes.

The successful candidate will work on features related to route planning, interactive maps, destination searches, travel information, and responsive navigation interfaces. Responsibilities may include improving Mapquest Directions interactions, testing route displays, identifying usability issues, optimizing page performance, and helping ensure a consistent experience across desktop and mobile devices.

Candidates should have a good understanding of modern web technologies, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, responsive design, and user-interface development. Experience with mapping APIs, geolocation services, GIS concepts, route-planning systems, or location-based applications would be an advantage.

Attention to detail and a strong interest in navigation technology are important for this role. You will collaborate with designers and developers to test new features, investigate technical issues, and suggest practical improvements based on real-world navigation scenarios.

This is a flexible remote opportunity for someone interested in web mapping, digital navigation, and location-based technology. The role offers the chance to contribute to useful online tools while working on features designed to make route planning and everyday journeys simpler and more efficient.
