I produce ~15-minute documentaries for YouTube using clips gathered from the internet. The style is cinematic with a strong touch of humor (good pacing, subtle comedic timing, and polished storytelling). Here is a link to one of my completed videos for reference: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQDQxW7PAng
Right now I’m working on a new video about the Weeknd, and I’ve completed a basic edit of the video with narration + music + clips. However, my editing skills aren’t great, so I’m looking for a professional editor to elevate this video into something that feels high-end and intentional.
What I need help with now (Phase 1: Intro)
- Improve the edit of an existing 60-second clip
- Enhance pacing, sound design, and overall “cinematic” feel
- Add subtle animations / motion graphics if/where it makes sense
- No color grading needed
Software / Workflow (important)
I work in DaVinci Resolve. You will need to be able to edit in Resolve and return a Resolve project / timeline (or deliverables that drop in cleanly)
Ongoing work
If you crush this test clip, I’ll likely hire you to help with the rest of the 15-minute video and possibly future projects.
Requirements
- Strong English comprehension (must clearly understand intent and tone)
- Experience editing YouTube documentaries or cinematic content
- Strong sense of story + pacing
- Ability to match cinematic + humorous tone
To apply, please include:
- Any examples of similar work (cinematic doc / YouTube doc / storytelling edits)
- A quick note on your DaVinci Resolve experience (or your proposed cross-software workflow)
Thank you for your time and I look forward to working with you!
