The On-Set Video Assist Assistant plays a hands-on Pips NYT role in the heart of production, helping ensure that every shot is captured, reviewed, and communicated clearly to the team. Working closely with the Video Assist Operator, this position involves setting up and maintaining monitors, routing video feeds to directors and crew, preparing instant playback for review, and troubleshooting technical issues under time pressure. Beyond managing the gear, the assistant acts as a vital link between departments, keeping video village running smoothly and supporting the camera team with reliable, detail-oriented work. It’s a role that demands technical curiosity, quick problem-solving, and the ability to stay calm and focused in the fast pace of a live set.
