Job Description

Live Theater, Music and Dance performance Camera Operator wanted. This is a regular position opportunity approx once or twice a month, sometimes more.

Looking for someone smart, friendly, and with a good attitude. You would be 2nd camera of 2. This is a pretty casual and relaxed job (as long as you are comfortable in a live shooting environment!) and good $$ for the time. Looking for a good fit, someone with a good sense of how and what to cover and can take direction well, with good sensibilities of what is important from exposure in stage lighting conditions to the action on stage.

MUST have live performance experience. These are smaller venues and productions, but still high end. All shoots are in the Los Angeles area.

You will need your own camera and tripod with a shotgun mic or two and a couple apple boxes from time to time. A tall tripod is needed sometimes to be taller than the audience when there is no raised stage.

NO DSLRs or similar cameras like the C100 etc. Must have a CAMCORDER.
A Panasonic HMC 150, oldie but goodie camera or similar is great. If you have one with a longer optical zoom that is better.
HD is fine, we do NOT shoot 4K

Please list your experience ONLY with LIVE Performance.
Please list some of the nuances/differences that are important when shooting live performance. I will ask you about this.

The pay is a flat $175 or possibly a bit more depending on how you do per shoot. Each shoot is from 30 minutes to 2.5 hours with the average being about 1 hour and 15 minutes. Set-up and break down time is not included in these time estimates.

I will want to meet in person before the first job.
