The Red Lion Pub started as a local watering hole in a quiet corner of Orlando and grew into the center of an underground art movement by giving voice to an overlooked community. In 2010, kindhearted Rose and her talented son, Christian, transformed their family bar into a safe-haven where artists could gather and experiment. At the height of their success, a walk through the pub’s signature event, Twisted Tuesdays, would feature fire-spinners practicing their craft, vendors selling their creations, and local bands testing new songs or pounding away on the community piano.
While the community thrived, problems began to surface that slowly chipped away at the place its patrons viewed as a second home. Filmed during the final days of the pub, “Lionhearted” is a feature documentary film exploring how one small bar and one determined family created a legacy of love and art in the face of adversity.
