SYNOPSIS: Hope, a young atheist, befriends two Christian students at a university, Tom and Ashley, who introduce her to their study group, headed by former university professor and retired technology CEO Robert Bane. Mr. Bane tells her that he has had dreams about her, which disturbs her. Hope meets her former flame, Jason. But when she discovers who he represents she turns to Mr. Bane and Tom for answers and becomes entangled in a covert mission to expose a secret government plot.
A nation-wide dragnet is begun for her and Bane’s group, and others like them, because they refuse to follow America’s new law. After a series of devastating natural disasters, most countries of the world see the rationale of following the U.S. in making a similar law, with just as severe consequences for noncompliance. Thousands flee the cities as government protection is not accorded dissidents. The media has made them appear as dangerous, and they have nowhere to hide in the cities.
As Hope finally realizes that Tom was telling her the truth about what is happening, they are captured by the police and soon brought to trial, where they are condemned as traitors and sentenced to death. A mysterious unarmed officer helps them escape. Then Hope realizes that Tom has seen her give Jason a caring look and thinks she has rekindled her first love. The officer has them go down into a mountain cave. Soon soldiers arrive, bent on their destruction. Hope and the others have, by then, realized that they have an even bigger concern, -one within, because Earth’s inhabitants are about to witness the most profound and final event in its history, -the appearance of Christ!
