In this piece Bret engages with the people of Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam to examine the political influence on relationships in a society that identifies as socialist. Bret worked with translators to mimic the process and feel of the first two in the series, while also allowing significant space for the people of Vietnam to tell their own stories.
The result of the series is a cultural artifact that easily draws parallels and exposes differences between the two societies, painting a picture of how global economics is affecting the love-lives of the working class.
