Unbeknownst to his family, the autistic child brings the rocks home with him to Los Angeles. Soon Michael begins spending all his time with a new invisible friend he calls "Jenny" and strange and increasingly dangerous things start happening around the house: faucets turn on by themselves, handprints appear out of nowhere, the wall in Michael's room spontaneously catches fire. The evil spirits, locked away in the stones for centuries, are free to unleash havoc on the family. After fleeing their haunted home, the Taylors try to take back their lives by recruiting healer Teresa and her niece Gloria. Together, they confront the spirits, but only the strongest will survive the deadly cleansing ritual that pits the family members against the shadowy and powerful denizens of "The Darkness."
