Johan Ackermann, from Gauteng, South Africa created a custom-designed chassis for the supercar - famous for winning the 1989 Le Mans - so that modern Mercedes-Benz parts would fit into it.

Stigma and discrimination against men who have sex with men (MSM) is rife throughout the world. The challenges these men face vary, from personal hardships to hostility from civil society organizations, religious bodies, government, and even law enforcement. In South Africa these hardships are heightened through cultural beliefs that often lead to severe beatings and even death.
