Looking for a Composer / Soundscape Designer for an experimental new media horror/comedy project containing elements from the Found Footage (Paranormal Activity), Screenlife (Searching) and Livestreaming (Dashcam) genres. The novel format seamlessly blends sound design elements with stock footage/music and originally composed sections. Therefore, a talented post sound artist (experienced in sound design, composing and sound mixing) who can envision and execute a dynamic soundscape is needed. A strong musical ability is paramount.
The foundation for all of this has already been professionally laid in and mixed, much of which can be used in the final version. However, there are temp elements that must be swapped out. Securing additional licensable material, with the help of producers, and composing short music elements meant to mimic popular songs and audio memes will be required. Because the story is told through new channels of media consumption, an understanding of the above-mentioned genres, as it relates to how diegetic and non-diegetic sound is used, is of the utmost importance. An artist who has a flair for the twisted sounds heard in dark paranormal thrillers is what we’re looking for.
