Job Description

Seeking an experienced artistically passionate, actor friendly director for a short (15 page) SAG micro budget character driven film.
I was inspired to write this film because of my desire to live my dream of being a professional dancer. The lack of support and understanding I received combined with watching my father unhappy most of his life because he lived the status quo is the impetus for this character driven story. Fortunately, I have followed my dreams, but our protagonist has not. Questioning her own life choices in middle age she is also confronted with her father's onset of dementia. The story explores the complex father/daughter relationship, the challenges of caring for a sr. parent and the discovery of secret lost dreams. Dance is also woven into the story highlighting the high statistics of teenage homelessness. “Don’t Die with your Dream Inside” is the message of this story.
I am looking for an experienced director who loves working with actors (obviously), resonates with this story, likes to collaborate and communicates well.
This passion project is tentatively set to shoot mid-July 2024 in the LA area. An estimated budget of $15K for a 3-day shoot. Planning on doing a Seed & Spark Fundraising campaign.
Director Pay: $350/day plus pre production compensation
Helpful if interested in collaborating on a fundraising campaign.

If interested please send over your resume, demo reels, website and why you feel this project would be a good fit to collaborate on.
