Job Description

MEDIA ASSISTANT / PA - SMALL DOCUMENTARY TV CREW - WHITEHORSE

Part-Time contract position, with opportunity for full time
Whitehorse, Yukon
Non-union, freelance, MUST LIVE IN WHITEHORSE
Training will be provided, with potential opportunity for camera assisting
Starting Range $200 to $275 / day based on experience/hrs -or- $18+/hr for hourly part-time
Starting Date: Approx. July 24, 2023
End Date: to be confirmed, summer/fall/winter potentially

Responsibilities:
To download media and make back ups
Enter data into the tape log
Verify media is copied and backed up correctly
Communicate with production & post production team members
Package and ship hard drives if needed
Help keep the production office tidy
Support film crew with equipment organization and tracking
Do errands that could include driving, purchasing supplies, labelling, filing
Scan and file releases and petty cash receipts
Make reports on damaged or lost equipment
Request supplies from Vancouver office
Requirements:
Whitehorse based, has lived in the Yukon for at least one year (paid 2023 taxes in the Yukon)
Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
Has a valid drivers license and a clean driving record
Good and safe driver over 21 years of age
Excellent communication skills
Written and spoken English
Comfortable with Google drive, Google sheets, Google docs, and email

Beneficial Skills / Background / Assets:
Worked in, and/or Studied, film and television
Has used ShotputPro
Some experience / familiarity with Camera Assist / DIT duties
Some experience / familiarity with camera equipment for documentary filming
Laptop and cell phone
Vehicle in good working order with business use insurance on it
Diligent, resourceful, and attentive to details
Able to handle multiple changing priorities
Willingness to learn and positive attitude
