We are seeking visually dynamic short documentaries on Muslims around the world engaging in unique cultural experiences surrounding Ramadan.
We want dramatic, cinematic, uplifting footage of events that take place during Ramadan in different cultural contexts and locations.We would like to include all types of stories. Personal or public events, intimate or grand, stories that show a part of the daily Muslim experience.We are looking for stories that highlight the diversity of the Muslim population: painters, musicians, circus artists, writers, poets, actors, photographers, architects, imams, university professors and students, politicians and regular people. Stories that are interesting and out of the norm, as well as glimpses into everyday life.
We are currently planning for stories in Ramadan 2018. We are looking for unconventional stories of Muslims fasting around the world, but not an explainer video about what Ramadan is.
WHAT WE ARE NOT LOOKING FOR:  
Please do not pitch a story that is focused on a conflict. 
We would like pitches that are about Muslims that are native to the country that the story is set in (second or more generation natives).
Background: Ramadanonline is an online multimedia site promoting the understanding of Islam and Muslims through their experience of Ramadan. It is a cinematic experience that will serve as a lasting multi-cultural portrayal of the day-to-day Muslim experience around the world. To illustrate this, we are covering the interwoven stories of life and worship in relation to Ramadan. Through these video portrayals, we hope to offer a glimpse into a day-in-the-life of a Muslim.

Format: 
• Documentary short film
• The length should be maximum 2 - 3 minutes.
• Video production and post production
• English subtitles 

Main Deliverables
• Appearance Release forms
• Location release forms
• The final cut of the film without music or voice overs, maximum 3 minutes
• All elements, no maximum (export audio, voice over and music as separate tracks)
• Transcript of film with timecode and both language of origin as well as English translation
• Timecode of final film with transparent background
• Subtitles
• All original footage (rushes filmed)
• Video Format: ProRes 422 (HQ)
• Audio Format:
• 48K Sample Rate
• 16bit
• Filling up to -10db (Occasional peak up to -6db)
• Ch1 & Ch2: Stereo Full Mix
• Ch3 & Ch4: Mono Mix
*** Please outline if you are delivering your finished piece via electronic transfer or via shipping a hard-drive. There will be no extra expenses paid for delivery.***

Equipment:
Large sensor camera is required. (Examples Canon C300, C100 or Sony FS700, DSLR cameras such as the Canon 5D or 7D are okay too)
Clear audio recording with a LAV and/ or boom.

Brief Description for Video
Ramadan Story: A story covering a unique character or tradition that occurs Ramadan in your country. We are looking for stories happening during different times of day. We would like you to specify the time of day the story is taking place. For example: (8PM Maghrib, Iftar) or (3AM)

• Serving Suhur in Indonesia on roller blades
• School football teams practicing during the night instead of the day
• Ramadan Midnight Sales
• Fireworks during Eid
• Hari Raya Puasa in Singapore
