For years Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside has been described as a “black hole”, as a slippery slope of addiction, crime, and welfare that residents can’t escape. Largely, its been reported on from a distance, glamorized by prostitution, drugs, and crime. This POV documentary immerses itself into the lives of people attempting to escape, redefine, or come to terms with this “black hole”. Through their life experiences many lessons will be learned, from the most unlikely of sources.
