Job Description

Essaybot is looking for a freelance academic writing and education content writer to create practical resources for students learning to plan, draft, and revise essays. Our content focuses on the academic writing process and the responsible use of AI writing tools as support for student learning.

The writer will develop articles and guides on essay structure, thesis statements, outlines, introductions, body paragraphs, conclusions, and revision. Assignments may also cover research questions, source evaluation, evidence, citations, proofreading, and common academic writing challenges. Some pieces will explain how an AI essay tool can help students explore ideas, review a draft, or identify gaps in an argument while leaving academic decisions and final work in the student’s hands.

We are looking for someone who can turn a writing question into a useful explanation. For example, an article about essay outlines should help a reader move from a broad topic to a focused thesis and a logical paragraph plan. A guide to AI-assisted revision should show how to assess automated feedback, check factual claims, and improve a draft without accepting suggestions uncritically.

Responsibilities

- Write original, well-structured articles about essays, academic writing, and AI-supported learning.
- Explain writing concepts through clear examples that students can apply to their own work.
- Research assigned topics and verify factual information, sources, and citation guidance.
- Revise drafts in response to editorial feedback and maintain a consistent, helpful tone.
- Meet agreed deadlines and follow the brief for each assignment.

Qualifications

- Strong command of written US English and experience writing or editing educational content.
- Familiarity with essay development, the research process, academic integrity, and common citation practices.
- Ability to evaluate the strengths and limitations of AI-generated writing suggestions.
- Writing samples that demonstrate clarity, accuracy, and sound organization.

Experience in tutoring, academic editing, university writing support, or educational technology is welcome.
