Job Description

We are looking for a creative, motivated, and detail-oriented Game Designer to join our development team. In this role, you will be responsible for shaping engaging gameplay experiences by designing, refining, and balancing game systems, mechanics, and levels. You will collaborate closely with programmers, artists, and other stakeholders to bring innovative ideas to life and deliver memorable player experiences.

The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in game design principles, the ability to translate concepts into well-functioning gameplay systems, and a passion for creating games that are fun, accessible, and deeply engaging. From early ideation through final polish, you will play a key role in defining the overall vision and success of the project.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, document, and refine game mechanics, systems, and core gameplay concepts.

- Create engaging levels, missions, and interactive elements that enhance player engagement.

- Collaborate closely with engineering and art teams to ensure cohesive and effective implementation of designs.

- Balance gameplay elements such as difficulty, pacing, progression, and rewards.

- Conduct playtests, gather player feedback, and iterate on designs based on data and insights.

- Stay informed on industry trends, player expectations, and best practices in game design.

- Clearly communicate design intent and vision to team members and project stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Strong understanding of game design theory, mechanics, and player psychology.

- Experience working with game engines and design tools such as Unity or Unreal Engine.

- Ability to create clear and concise design documentation, diagrams, and specifications.

- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.

- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.

- Experience with prototyping and iterative, feedback-driven development.

- Familiarity with level design flow, game economy design, or balancing systems.

Preferred Qualifications

- Basic knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., C#, C++, or similar).

- Understanding of UX/UI design principles.

- Experience with 2D/3D modeling or animation tools.

- Previous involvement in shipped or completed game projects (professional or independent).

- A genuine passion for video games across multiple platforms and genres.
