Job Description

Reporting to the Head of Operations/ Gear Division Business Manager, Shift Dynamic’s Rental Manager plays a vital role in providing a memorable client experience from inquiry to equipment return. With a client-focused approach to achieving the optimal shot, the rental manager leverages their creative problem-solving skills and familiarity with cinematic gear to design gear proposals to meet our client’s needs. Rental managers are responsible for quoting, maintaining accurate inventory levels, coordinating sub-rentals, crewing projects, fulfilling orders, and optimizing the rental workflow. Successful Rental Managers are driven by relationships, building our reputation, growing our business, and providing a superior product and service to our clients.

Responsibilities

Help meet quarterly revenue & profitability targets by winning inbound leads and identifying new client opportunities
Respond to customer inquiries in a timely manner
Check availability, reserve equipment, schedules crew, coordinate sub-rentals & ensures timeliness of order fulfillment including shipping and transportation of equipment
Manage a current book of business and look for repeat business opportunities
Optimize Rentman to build operational efficiencies
Establish and maintain vendor relationships and negotiate rates to maximize profitability
Effectively communicate repair status and availability of equipment, providing creative alternatives to internal and external clients
Effective day-to-day coordination of Rental Coordinators & Interns as well as booked crew
Scan, pull, & load equipment needed for upcoming projects
Stay relevant on cinematic cameras, specialty gear, and the filmmaking industry
Actively participate in all meetings, training, and activities to support and grow the Shift brand
Suggest investments in new equipment or consistent sub-rented items
Uphold our brand’s integrity & adhere to all Company policies, departmental procedures, and rules
Provide a safe work environment for our team, clients, vendors, crew & visitors
Be present and prepared for facility tours and demonstrations
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and attributes:

Hands-on knowledge of cinematic gear & ability to prep & troubleshoot equipment
2+ years of experience in a gear rental role
1+ years of experience managing/ supervising a team
Responsive and relationship-driven
Effective time-management, coordination, & project-management skills
Naturally curious & creative problem solver
Effective communicator with internal teams and clients
Demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and adaptability
Flexible schedule on shoot days
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs consistently
Reliable Transportation, Active Drivers license & Insurance
Physical ability to be on-set and execute duties in all types of environmental conditions
