Job Description

The Director is responsible for “calling” shows and leading the crew during live and taped studio production. This position will report directly to the Studio Supervisor at Stadium.

Candidate must have excellent communication skills with the ability to “call” a show in a clear and effective manner, delivering “network-level” on-air results
Direct and lead the studio and control room team for all studio programming
Prep shows in iNews, review scripts, tapes and graphics for timing and content. Insert blocking and audio commands
Work closely with producers, talent, and crew to execute the vision of scripted content
Give clear and concise cues to all production team members
Ability to communicate clearly with master control, follow directions, and take cues in a timely manner
Demonstrate a progressive approach to blocking studio shows. Be able to take full advantage of the capabilities of the production switcher: wipes, boxes, monitors, etc.
Availability to meet with producers before, and after shows to critique and improve content
Will be responsible for other duties as required and/or assigned
Qualifications & Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in broadcast production or related field preferred
Minimum 5 years professional broadcast directing experience with both traditional (television) and non-traditional media (digital)
Working knowledge of iNEWS or similar newsroom programs
Excellent working knowledge of production/broadcast environment
Understanding of job responsibilities and operations for all production control room team members
Ability to multi-task and make smart effective decisions under fast paced conditions
Excellent time management skills, along with ability to effectively manage operational resources
Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work well with other people in a team-oriented environment
Physical Requirements/Working Conditions
Ability to work in a control room during faced paced live production and maintain focus while multiple conversations take place in real time
Ability to think fast and make concise decisions in a timely matter
May be requested to work non-business hours and weekends for special job-related events
