We are looking for a Script Writer to write short motivational video scripts. This person is someone who can come up with creative ideas, write dialogue, create characters, and develop storylines that teach important lessons for all demographics. This individual will be able to lead a team with new ideas and concepts while writing in a very niche style that follows a certain formula. Each video is around 8-20 minutes of length, involves 2-25 actors, in-house locations, and is intended for social media platforms including Facebook, YouTube and IGTV. Our Script Writer should be skilled in the intricacies of storytelling with a strong passion for collaboration. Since we are a mission-led company and all of the content we create inspires people, the right candidate will find the long hours to be exciting and highly satisfying!
HOW YOU’LL SPEND YOUR TIME:
Developing ideas that are relatable and teach valuable lessons to our community by researching and analyzing trends, pop culture, viral content
Collaborating with various teams to make sure scripts have a strong moral, resonate with the target audience, and have minimal production complexities
Analyzing the performance of videos while making necessary adjustments to continuously improve scripts
Coming up with 5-10 new ideas a week and write 2-4 scripts each week that are around 10 pages long
Assigning, scheduling, and monitoring all scripts, anticipating various needs, and maintaining the organization of all files
Demonstrating creative thought leadership, keeping ahead of trends, and providing proactive inspiration and recommendations
Understanding story structure and following best screenwriting practices
WHAT YOU HAVE:
3+ years experience as a Script Writer, or a similar senior level role within film production
Strong writing talent, as well as creativity, patience, self-motivation, and an understanding of the filmmaking process
Ability to write for a wide range of audiences, including younger age range
Ability to manage multiple deadlines in a constantly changing and fast paced environment
Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to to collaborate with multiple departments
Ability to work after hours and on weekends and come up with solutions when emergencies arise
WHO OVERSEES YOU:
You will report directly to the Ideas and Scripts Senior Manager
WHO YOU OVERSEE:
Currently, the Script Writer does not oversee anyone
WHERE IT ALL GOES DOWN:
This is a remote role that can be worked at from a home office space
WHEN THE MAGIC HAPPENS:
This is a Consultant role on a per script basis

This approach doesn’t affect any aspect of pay: you will still get compensated during your Discovery Period according to the position you are applying for and within the rate listed for this position. Our organization looks to hire the BEST of the best and we focus on finding candidates who are a strong cultural fit. We have a 3 month 'Discovery Period' in place that allows us to get to know each new hire better and assess their skill set. Management-level roles will be part of a different Discovery Period for each step of the ladder (but again this does not affect your pay or compensation package).
