Looking for a hair & make-up person to join our film Mister Eddie, filming next week! **Must be comfortable working with both black women and elderly women's hair**
We will be filming in Bed-Stuy Brooklyn, from Wednesday 8/11 - Sunday 8/15. We will need our HMU person to be available each morning, but are open to half days rather than full days.
The film consists of 3 characters, each with a very naturalistic look, so the hair and make-up needs are not intensive.
This is a self-funded, independent project, so we are working with a reduced rate of $200 / day, however as I mentioned, we are very open to those being half days, not full ones.
Mister Eddie is based on a tape recording of an interview the director's grandfather Eddie (a Holocaust survivor) and his American wife Bea had in 1995 with their next-door neighbor, a Ghanaian-American high school student. The student, Esi, was assigned to interview someone who was alive during WWII, and had no idea about Eddie's past or experiences. The conversation traces a failure of language between 2 generations of immigrants trying to relate to one another. The entire film takes place largely in one apartment, over a single morning. The films of Chantal Akerman and Mike Leigh are references.
This film will be submitted to festivals, and is great for someone looking to gain narrative film experience!
