FILM CREW NEEDED for 3 min SHORT FILM of 1875 OPERETTA (Burbank)

'TRIAL BY JURY - 1875': CREW NEEDED for 3 min SHORT FILM of period MUSICAL/OPERETTA by GILBERT & SULLIVAN

1 to 2 days filming with time for location visit and pre-light November/Dec 2020 (Final Development & Pre-Production underway now)
Shooting on Blackmagic & Sigma Art or Sirui (may be subject to change)
Green screen and split screen techniques will be used to minimize the number of cast on set (Actors will not sing but rather mime to a pre recorded track).
Despite the limitations, the filming will aim to make the use of these techniques as invisible as possible

Project Outline:
The piece is set in a courtroom in London, England, 1875. A man is being tried for breach of promise. However, the Judge runs off with his fiancee! Mood is an early morning, naturally lit (warmer light could be present inside), English courtroom, with an interesting color palette of room and costumes. A dramatic visual style, comedic script and great music. Probably a little darker tones that a typical musical. The piece will be a stand alone short film (the author's original concept was in fact v. short) but will also be shown to investors for consideration to produce a full 40 minute version. It will be filmed like a regular period drama or comedy. It just happens to have music. Full details and background to the production are available upon request.

PRODUCER - Up and coming producer? Know what work it takes to get a project 'done'? Interested in different genres? Love film and other arts mediums? This could be for you!
LOCATION MANAGER
DOP - Experience of, or interest in, period drama, evocative lighting, split screen and green screen techniques particularly welcome. Knowledge of music and, or, singing in film a bonus but certainly not a deal breaker. Open to shooting a wide aspect ratio. Also, open to shooting on other camera systems, depending what you are used to
PRODUCTION DESIGNER - The location we have is an older building (1912) that will need some decoration to make it look like a court room. It is a large space with natural light entering from above and has a nice period feel to it. Would be great to find a production designer with a passion for what they do, who could work with this space to create a set that evokes the period
LINE PRODUCER - Experience with low to no budget production and a great people person sought.

Important Note: Experience is welcome, however I am aware we can only cover expenses. What is more important are good examples of your work, an overriding passion for your area of expertise and a collaborative approach to working with others. Talented and, or, excellent students, recent graduates, or seasoned professionals who are tired of being in lockdown are encouraged to apply! This project 'may' suit people with more than one skill, as we cannot have many people on set at the same time. Your experience doesn't have to be in Musicals AT ALL, in fact ..apart from the sound department, it really doesn't need to be. Better to have general film experience.
