Film Academy Instructor
Village Camps Austria is seeking a film camp instructor for international film students 10-17 years old. You guide a group of aspiring young filmmakers through the process of learning filmmaking skills and creating their own short dramatic movies. You need to be at least 21 years old and reside in a country where it is possible to travel to Austria from June 23 to July 28, 2019.
You will instruct and supervise campers during their filmmaking sessions, meal and bedtime routines and camp activities, which include excursions to nearby lakes, mountain hikes, a field trip to Salzburg, and an overnight hiking-camping experience in a rustic hut in the mountains. You will also edit a 15-minute camp activities video each 2-week session. You are ideal for the position if you have strong single-camera directing and Final Cut Pro editing skills and can teach these to young people, if you are kind and maintain high energy and patience with children for long periods of time, and have a peaceful disposition.
In Austria, campers and staff reside in the beautiful, clean Chalet Notburgahof in the picturesque town of Piesendorf, located near the foot of Mt. Grossglockner, and 5 minutes by car to the popular Lake Zell am See resort town. The chalet has an on-site dining hall, gym, tennis courts. A modern building next door houses the spacious film classroom and Mac editing stations.
The Village Camps Film Academy has been in existence for almost 20 years and has a reputation for having one of the finest youth summer camp filmmaking programs in the world.

The salary is €550 for each 2-week camp period plus a one-week unsalaried training period before camp. Full room and board and personal accident insurance are provided. You’ll need to provide air and/or rail transportation to and from Zell am See, Austria.
