Television production company is looking for an experienced Payroll Coordinator with a positive approach and great communication skills. The Payroll Coordinator’s primary responsibility is full oversight and coordination of the weekly payroll process. The position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Accounting and Administration.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage weekly payroll cycle for approximately 200-250 employees

- Manage multi-state, union and non-union, and hourly and salary employee payroll

- Collect, organize and audit start paperwork for accuracy and completeness

- Collect weekly timecards and review for accuracy and completeness

- Liaison with outside payroll partner to ensure all start work and timecards have been received and processed

- Responsible for grossing of all timecards in accordance with state/federal/local laws as well as company policies and union
contracts where applicable.

- Coordinate with internal business units to determine proper allocation of hours to projects

- Coordinate distribution of weekly paychecks

- Maintain employee records

- Track employee PTO

- Provide support to accounting department as required

- Provide support to management in the area of internal controls

- Special projects as required

Skills and Abilities

- 2+ years of previous payroll experience, preferably in TV production

- Familiarity with industry practices & multi-state payroll

- Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Google Suite

- Possess the highest level of discretion

- Excellent organizational, client service and communication skills

- Ability to work independently and in a time sensitive environment

- Customer service approach to communicating with employees and helping them with payroll questions

- Must possess sound decision-making skills and multi-task while working in a fluid environment with competing deadlines
