GENERAL FUNCTION: Assist the Animation Studio Manager and Art Director to coordinate the details of projects in order to keep the project on track. -
Not a staff position - Employment is per project based that could lead to full time
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Track and coordinate production of all art assets.
a. Communicate with each member of the art team daily in order to assess progress toward meeting deadlines.
b. Communicate with overseas studio about all art questions related to shipped elements
2. Work with art director(s) to break down storyboards in order to assign each piece of the background, characters and props to artists, along with deadlines.
a. Create background reference list for each project
b. Create background color reference list for each project
3. Organize and ensure all artwork is up-to-date for shipping.
4. Meetings with art directors, directors and executive producer to review artwork.
a. Distribute notes to artists.
5. Other duties as required.
SOFTWARE-RELATED SKILLS:
1. Previous computer experience with knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet and database applications (MS Office suite, including Word and Excel) required.
2. Proficiency with Adobe suite (including Flash, PhotoShop and AfterEffects) preferred.
3. Ability to quickly learn new software applications essential.
4. Ability to prepare spreadsheets of varying complexity.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
1. 1+ years of experience in production, preferably in animation.
2. Bachelor's Degree in film, art, communications or related field.
3. Working knowledge of production techniques and terminology.
4. Previous experience working with databases, especially FileMaker Pro.
5. Strong organizational, project management and time management skills.
6. Excellent attention to detail mandatory.
7. Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
8. Ability to establish priorities and multi-task efficiently in a high pressure environment while meeting strict deadlines.
