This short traces a girl's night at at legendary Stephen Talkhouse in Amagansett. After her friend asks permission to hook up with a boy they both like, the girl wanders around the bar looking for guys to talk to. The film explores the importance of individual identity in a country with, paradoxically, the harshest solitary confinement sentences, highlighting how formation of self relies on interactions with others and the correlation between solitary confinement and unhealthy interactions ranging from superficial ones, common place in upper class society like the one the world the film inhabits, and ultimately sexual assault. The script fuses the themes together in an unexpected, succinct, way and it manages to be both simple and complex. Characters will be adorned in upbeat 70s prep fun wardrobe, contrasting dark high contrast lighting, and claustrophobic suspenseful shots.
