Job Description

The New York Post Page Six is seeking a talent booker. Essential skills include the ability to create relationships with publicists in order to get our video producers and camera crews access to celebrity/musician interview opportunities, footage and news events. Potential candidates should have a broad and deep knowledge of pop culture and celebrity and be expected to brainstorm for coverage ideas. Bring energy and teamwork skills.

This is an opportunity to join an iconic media brand as it continues to experience exponential digital growth. New York Post and Page Six videos received more than a billion views across platforms in the past year. In September, Page Six TV will debut as a national daily gossip show.

This position is full time temporary to start but has the possible opportunity to turn into a permanent role.

Responsibilities:

Stay on top of all outside the building talent opportunities – from red carpets to DVD releases to book tours to music tours, etc.
Develop close relationships with external publicists for future shoots in conjunction with editorial team’s needs, requests and objectives.
Create a production calendar for talent interviews and red carpet shoots.
Help producers to ensure all topics and questions are appropriate for each artist/ celebrity.
Help devise new formats and creative approaches to celebrity interviews which should work on digital.
Attend/assist event and award show coverage as needed.
Book talent for special Page Six projects like our upcoming Page Six TV (coming this September), a forthcoming digital talk shows and future similar enterprising projects.
Contact industry and talent publicists and relevant websites to publicize/promote/get social support for the stories emanating from Page Six.

Qualifications
3+ years of experience booking talent
Great editorial judgment, social media savvy, ability to juggle multiple projects at once
Familiarity and use of mainstream video channels like YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, Twitter and more
Must enjoy working collaboratively and accurately in a fast paced breaking news environment but also a fun workplace
Attention to detail a must
