"inertia" / 慣性
Ignition of spirit and voice can take years, but once burning, its flame is difficult to put out. I made this film with two local students in Hong Kong during my term abroad at HKU. It captures the politically charged events of the latter-half of 2019 from a different perspective than we're used to seeing in the media and on the ground.
"below" - an underground NYC story
I spent the summer of '19 in NYC, and I wanted to capture the two New Yorks I was seeing - the exciting, glamorous, "city that never sleeps" New York, and the monotonous, commuter-centered, working-class New York. I noticed that there was a particular privilege associated with altitude, hence the title.
The Red Kaiyote - Tribute
A tribute to two beautiful pieces. The sounds of Hiatus Kaiyote's Choose Your Weapon paired with the visuals of Michael Dudok de Wit's La Tortue Rouge (The Red Turtle).
